Caleb is the owner of a construction company in North Florida. Besides work, church and spending time with his wife and two children, his main interests are food and travel. He enjoys the adventure of visiting little-known places and making new discoveries. In the late ‘90s and early ‘00s, while working on a travelling construction crew, he would often seek out local, independent restaurants when eating out. Many times, they were barbecue shacks, and he quickly learned that some of the best barbecue can be found in the most unlikely of places. Soon after, he began writing about these barbecue joints that intrigued him, both to share the experiences with others and as an outlet for creative writing. In 2004, Caleb started the blog Smoked Pig and Sweet Tea to chronicle these visits. He updates this blog as time permits, and plans to have many more barbecue experiences, mainly in North Florida but occasionally throughout the Southeast on vacations or work related travels.
